Star Trek's Patrick In Heart Scare

Star Trek's Patrick Stewart had to be taken to hospital after a heart scare on a movie set, it has been revealed.

Stewart, 64, was filming a new sci-fi show for Granada TV when he suffered chest pains, reports The Sun.

He told the director he was feeling unwell and was driven to hospital in Manchester, where he was eventually given the all-clear after three hours of tests.

A Granada spokeswoman said Stewart - Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation - was now "absolutely fine" and back on set working.

The X-Men star has been busy filming the new show, Eleventh Hour, for some time.

A Granada source told the paper: "Patrick has been working very hard in recent weeks because the filming schedule is really tight.

"
The director suggested he go for a check-up just in case."
