NBC And HBO Shows Tie At Emmy Prelims

NBC's the West Wing and HBO's Introducing Dorothy Dandridge each picked up four Emmies during the creative arts portion of the 52nd annual Primetime Emmy Awards Saturday night.

As usual, The Simpsons won for best animated series. The computer-generated Walking with Dinosaurs nabbed the award for best animated program of an hour or longer.

In the only acting awards -- for guest appearances on comedy an dramatic series -- handed out during the preliminary ceremonies, Bruce Willis picked up a trophy for his role on Friends and Jean Smart, for her role on Frasier. James Whitmore and Beah Richards won Emmys for their performances on The Practice.

Surprisingly, although it received 18 nominations, HBO's The Sopranos failed to pick up a single award Saturday night.
