As nominations are revealed today for the 79th Annual Academy Awards, Sky has announced that both the live ceremony and red-carpet coverage will be broadcast for the first time in the UK, in stunning high definition.


Sky One’s 90 minute preview coverage, starting at 11pm on Sunday 25th February will capture the magic of the famous red carpet arrivals. Sky’s LA host Fearne Cotton will grab exclusive interviews with the stars about their outfits and predictions of success.

Then Sky Movies and Sky Movies HD (available to Sky HD customers only) full, live coverage of the awards begins at 1am later that morning with the ceremony kicking off at 1.30am. The only place to watch the ceremony live in the UK, Sky Movies will cut to Claudia Winkleman in our London studio during breaks for expert commentary on the runaway winners, surprise steals, and underdog wins of the night.

Sky One will broadcast a two-hour highlights show from 10pm on Monday 26 February 2007. Hosted by Fearne Cotton ‘The Oscars 2007’ will include pre-Awards chat with the stars as they arrive on the red carpet plus a few words with the winners, losers and party goers as they continue celebrating and commiserating into the early hours.
