Derek Jacobi film nominated for Iris Prize


The London Lesbian & Gay Film Festival has nominated SIDNEY TURTLEBAUM (Winner of the 2008 Pears Foundation UKJFF Short Film Fund) as the festivals official entry for the prestigious Iris Prize - the world’s largest prize for a gay or lesbian short film. The Prize valued at £25,000 will be presented to enable the winner to make their next short film in the UK .

SIDNEY TURTELBAUM, starring Derek Jacobi as an eccentric gay Jewish man who gatecrashes funerals is written by BAFTA nominated Writer, Raphael Smith, directed by BAFTA nominated Director, Tristram Shapeero (Green Wing, Peep Show & Pulling) and produced by Daniel Jewel through his production company Third Man Films. SIDNEY TURLEBAUM is currently being developed into a feature film with the same creative team and with Derek Jacobi attached to reprise his starring role as Sidney .

The film is playing at the LLGFF on March 29 and April 7.
