MEL GIBSON was caught on camera last night (09OCT00) when a pile-up resulting from a car crash prevented him from getting home.

TV camera crews were on the scene to report on the Los Angeles canyon crash - which came after a high-speed police pursuit - and couldn't believe their eyes when the BRAVEHEART star stepped out of his vehicle to find out what was going on.
