Ashton Kutcher is Highest-Paid TV Actor

Ashton Kutcher has not only replaced Charlie Sheen as the star of the hit comedy Two And A Half Men, he also took his place as television's highest-paid actor, according to Forbes' annual survey.

Forbes estimated Kutcher earned $24m (£14.8m) from May 2011 to May 2012, while Sheen, now starring in Anger Management on cable television following his very public sacking from the hit CBS show, did not even make the top 10.

A year ago Sheen's $40m (£24.7m) easily outclassed Kutcher by some $16m (£9.9m).

Steve Carell, also in the top 10 last year with $15m (£9.3m) before he left The Office, was also nowhere to be found this year.

Other actors who fared well in the earnings ratings included House star Hugh Laurie and Ray Romano of now-cancelled Men Of A Certain Age, with $18m (£11.1m) each.

Other highly rewarded actors in the top 10 list included Emmy winner Alec Baldwin of 30 Rock, Last Man Standing star Tim Allen, Two And A Half Men co-star Jon Cryer and The Big Bang Theory's Jim Parsons and Johnny Galecki.

Forbes said its estimates did not include deductions for manager and agent fees, or "the other costs of being a celebrity".
