Skyfall becomes the most successful British film ever.


'Skyfall' has become the biggest film ever at the UK box office.

So far it's made £94,277,612 in its 40 days on release, beating the previous highest-grosser, James Cameron's 'Avatar', which made £94,025,632 over 11 months.

Producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson said: “We’re overwhelmed with gratitude to the cinema-going audiences in the UK who have made 'Skyfall' the highest grossing film of all time."

“We are very proud of this film and thank everybody, especially Daniel Craig and Sam Mendes, who have contributed to its success.”

So far, the film has made $248,219,280 (£154,288,388) in the US, and a huge $871,219,280 (£541466,267) worldwide, according to movie stats site Box Office Mojo, making it the highest grossing Bond film of all time.

The 23rd Bond film opened on October 26, starring Daniel Craig in his third outing as 007 alongside Judi Dench, Javier Bardem, Naomie Harris, Berenice Marlohe and Ralph Fiennes, directed by Sam Mendes.
