Fisher was "joking" about 'Star Wars 7' return.

It was reported yesterday that Carrie Fisher was to reprise her role as Princess Leia in 'Star Wars: Episode 7' after the actress clearly said so in an interview.

When asked whether she would be returning the actress had simply replied , "Yes", but we were sceptical due to her reputation for playing around with the media.

A representative of Fisher's has now back-tracked on her behalf, telling CNN that "she was joking" before reaffirming that "nothing has been announced".

However despite the clarification of her comments, Fisher's return still remains likely after Mark Hamill admitted that talks had taken place with original cast members about returning to the series.

It's entirely possible that Disney and LucasFilm stepped in to shoot down the talk and slap Fisher's wrist ahead of any official casting announcement.

Talk of returning cast members escalated in recent weeks following a report from Latino Review stating that Harrison Ford had signed a deal to reprise his role as Han Solo.

Of course speculation has been and will continue be rife in the absence of any official news, of which there has been little so far.
