Sandra Bullock in talks for Annie?

Sandra Bullock is reportedly in talks for a starring role in Sony's forthcoming remake of 'Annie'.

She would be taking on the role of Miss Hannigan, the mean orphanage owner who presides over Annie and her fellow charges.

It's thought that she had originally passed on the part, but is now back in negotiations.

Bullock would be starring opposite 'Beasts of the Southern Wild' star Quvenzhane Wallis as the titular orphan looking for a new home.

Meanwhile, Jamie Foxx has signed on for the role of Benjamin Stacks, a New York mayoral hopeful based on the character of Daddy Warbucks, played by Albert Finney in the original.

Will Smith's Overbrook Entertainment is behind the production, while rapper Jay-Z is also in a producers role.

Smith's daughter Willow was originally lined up for the lead role, but quit the production to 'be a normal 12-year-old'.

British actress and scriptwriter Emma Thompson is working in the script, with Will Gluck in the director's chair.
