John C. Reilly confirmed for Guardians of the Galaxy.

John C. Reilly has been confirmed for the cast of 'Guardians of the Galaxy', according to reports.

The actor was said to be in negotations for the forthcoming Marvel Studios project, with possible roles being rumoured online.

But according to Deadline, he's now officially on board and rather than playing Ronan the Accuser, a military governor and keeper of justice, he'll instead play Rhomann Dey.

Though this may not mean a vast amount to the uninitiated, Dey is the leader of the Nova Corps, an intergalactic police force – or 'space militia' – for the planet of Xandar.

It's thought that he could be being lined up for future instalments too, should the first film do the right amount of business.

Reilly is among a number of top-flight talent now recruited to this most intriguing of projects.

He joins 'Parks and Recreation' star Chris Pratt, who has nabbed the lead role of Peter Quill, Benicio Del Toro, Glenn Close, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Lee Pace and Michael Rooker.
