Amanda Seyfried has been cast alongside her Les Miserables co-star Russell Crowe in new film Fathers And Daughters.

The Lovelace (2012) actress will play the daughter of Russell's character in the movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The New York-set film will focus on the daughter as she deals with a crumbling relationship in the present day, and looks back on the relationship she had with her novelist father .

The script by Brad Desch was on the Black List of Hollywood's favourite unproduced screenplays.

Gabriele Muccino, who took the reins for The Pursuit Of Happyness and Seven Pounds, will direct.

Shooting on Fathers And Daughters is expected to start in December.
