Batman delays Affleck's next film.

Ben Affleck's next directing project Live By Night has been pushed back by almost a year because of his role in the Batman-Superman movie.

Warner Bros has announced it is moving back the release date of the Prohibition-era drama from December 2015 to October 2016.

Ben, who plans to direct and star in Live By Night, needs the extra time because of his role as Batman in Zack Snyder's superhero movie, which is about to begin shooting in Detroit.

Insiders said Ben and Warner Bros knew they would have to delay Live By Night when Zack Snyder's Batman-Superman project was moved back a year, from summer 2015 to May 2016.

Live By Night, based on Dennis Lehane's novel of the same name, is about the son of a cop who descends into a life of crime.

Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way is producing the movie, but apart from Ben taking the lead role, no other casting is known.
