MacFarlane: Ted 2 needed new female.

Seth MacFarlane has revealed he was so impressed with Amanda Seyfried when they worked together that he cast her in the lead role for the Ted sequel.

The pair, who star together in Seth's new film Million Ways to Die in the West, A (2014), are set to reunite for Ted 2, with the Les Miserables actress taking over from Mila Kunis, who starred in the first film.

"Amanda's fantastic. Our story for Ted 2 required a different female lead. I had just finished shooting this movie and had such a great experience with her," Seth explained.

"She's such a fantastic actress - she's so great to work with, such a team player and everyone loves having her around. So I had to look no further than my own cast."

Seth will reprise his voice role as the foul-mouthed teddy alongside Mark Wahlberg as owner and friend John Bennett in the follow-up to the 2012 comedy, which will start shooting in August.

The 40-year-old creator of Family Guy and American Dad! Has also been busy with his festive record. It follows his debut album, Music Is Better Than Words, which was released in September 2011.

"The Christmas album is done. It comes out this Christmas. It was recorded here at Abbey Road with a 52-piece orchestra, and I think it's going to be good," he said.

A Million Ways To Die In The West is in cinemas now. Ted 2 will be released in 2015.
