Natalie Portman in line to join Steve Jobs biopic.

It’s been an eventful few weeks for Danny Boyle’s Steve Jobs biopic, which had been dropped by Sony Pictures before being swiftly acquired by Universal earlier this week.

The latest development is that Deadline is reporting Natalie Portman is in talks to join the production, with the star possibly in line to play Lisa Brennan-Jobs, the daughter of Steve.

Writer Aaron Sorkin recently described the character as “the heroine of the movie”, which will be played out through three thirty-minute scenes, each of which is set before the launch of a major Apple product.

Michael Fassbender is thought to be attached to star as the titular tech guru, after Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale had previously been heavily linked to the role.

Seth Rogen may also appear as Jobs’ Apple co-founder, Steve Wozniak, while Jessica Chastain has also been linked to the project in recent weeks. No release date has been confirmed as yet, but the film is expected to arrive towards the end of 2015.
