Affleck, O'Connor Return For "Accountant" Sequel.

Warner Bros. Pictures is moving forward with a sequel to last year's pulpy & darkly amusing autistic assassin crime tale "The Accountant".

Director Gavin O'Connor, star Ben Affleck, and producers Lynette Howell Taylor and Mark Williams are all in talks to return while actor Jon Bernthal may also be back in some capacity.

No word if any of the other supporting players like Anna Kendrick, J.K. Simmons or Cynthia Addai-Robinson will also return.

Affleck starred as the titular math savant with high functioning autism who works as a forensic accountant and un-cooks the books for unsavory criminal organizations who are under the glare of law enforcement.

In the first a new client (John Lithgow) put him in danger and the Treasury Department was closing in, leading him to employ his assassination skills to rack up a large body count.

Reviews were decidedly mixed overall, but the surprise was that said reviews were often very divided – film critics either loving or hating it with not a lot in the middle.

The movie, which cost $44 million to make, ended up grossing $155 million and has apparently been a good seller on video as well – leading to the green lighting of the sequel
