Biography

JAKE JOHANNSEN (Bill Bailey) plays the Bogart-like wannabe manager, who encourages Bunny Hoover's lounge act.

Johannsen has established himself as one of the country's most prominent comedians. He made his comedic debut at San Francisco's Cob Comedy Club during open mike night.

In 1986, he won the 11th Annual San Francisco Stand Up Comedian Competition.

Johannsen's highly original and unique delivery has made him a regular at comedy clubs around the country and a regular guest on "Late Night With David Letterman" (with over 20 appearances) and "The Tonight Show" starring Jay Leno. This acclaim landed him his own one hour long HBO Comedy Special, "This'll Take About an Hour," which earned him an Ace Award nomination for best writing in an Entertainment Special.

He has also appeared in "HBO Young Comedian Special," public television's "Comedy Tonight" series as well as hosting Comedy Central's "Two Drink Minimum."

In 1994, Johannsen was nominated "Best Male Stand-Up Comedian" for the American Comedy Awards.
