Biography

ROSE McGOWAN was raised in Italy and spent her childhood traveling throughout Europe. She returned to the U.S. in order to attend high school and moved to Seattle.

A chance trip to Los Angeles resulted in her being cast in the film The Doom Generation. Her performance in Greg Araki's dark and stylish road movie earned her a nomination for Best Newcomer in the 1996 Spirit Awards. In 1997, McGowan had the distinction of starring in four films appearing at the Sundance Film Festival: Going All the Way, Louise & Clark & George, Nowhere and the short film Southie. Additional film credits include Scream, Phantoms and Jawbreaker.
