Biography

FRANCESCA NERI has worked with some of the most distinguished International Directors. She has starred in Pedro Almodovar’s Live Flesh, Bigas Luna’s Las Edades de Lulu and Carlos Saura’s Dispara!, three films in which she played opposite Spain’s most popular leading men: Javier Bardem and Antonio Banderas.

In Italy, her extensive film credits include Pensavo Fosse Amore...Invece era un Calesse, directed by Massimo Troisi, for which she won the Nastro d’Argento award for Best Actress. She also won this award for Almodovar’s Live Flesh.

She starred in Gabriele Salvatores’ Sud, and Wilma l’Abate’s La Mia Generazione, which was the Italian entry for Best Foreign Film at the 1996 Academy Awards®. In addition to many Italian comedies, she has also starred in Giovanni Bertolucci’s Dolce Rumore della Vita and Cristina Comencini’s Matrimoni.

Neri is currently shooting Andrew Davis’ Collateral Damage with Arnold Schwarzenegger.
