Biography

Paul Rubell was nominated for an Academy Award® for Best Editing for Michael Mann’s Insider, The (1999), starring Russell Crowe and Al Pacino. Rubell began his film apprenticeship with directors Sam Peckinpah and Robert Altman. He became an editor on the TV series Fame and has since edited television movies, miniseries and feature films, including three projects with acclaimed director John Frankenheimer (Burning Season, The (1993), The Andersonville, and Island of Dr. Moreau, The (1996)). In 1998 he edited Blade (1998), starring Wesley Snipes, for director Stephen Norrington and New Line Cinema.

Rubell has been nominated for two Emmy Awards (My Name is Bill W., Andersonville) and three American Cinema Editor Awards (My Name is Bill W., The Burning Season, Andersonville). He won the America Cinema Editor Award for Andersonville.
