LIS KERN began her longtime association with Mace Neufeld on The Hunt for Red October. She was associate producer on The Saint, Clear and Present Danger, Patriot Games, Necessary Roughness, Flight of the Intruder and, most recently, The General’s Daughter.
Her strong visual effects background stems from working with Douglas Trumbull from 1983 to 1989 on his pioneering Showscan process, a period during which she also wrote, directed and produced a documentary on Trumbull’s career. Kern has also produced numerous trailers and promos.
Kern received her master’s degree in film at USC, where she was awarded the prestigious CineEagle Award for one of her short films. A native of England, she has lived in Los Angeles since 1980.
