Born in Savannah, Georgia, Moncrief was 12 years old when he won the role of Hardy over approximately 2,000 other young hopefuls. He currently lives with his family in a small town outside of Savannah, where he has a variety of interests in addition to acting. His favorite activities include riding roller coasters, going to movies, playing pinball and video games, and, on the heels of his role in "Legend Of Bagger Vance, The (2000)," playing putt-putt golf.
