Biography

Helen Fielding is the author of "Bridget Jones's Diary" and "Bridget Jones: the Edge of Reason" which have sold over 5 million copies in 32 countries. Her first novel "Cause Celeb" (1994) set in a refugee camp in Africa has just been published in the USA.

Fielding worked in television for many years where she produced documentaries in Sudan, Ethiopia and Mozambique for Comic Relief and - climactically - directed several episodes of "Play School" a programme for two year olds. She then worked as a journalist in London for the Sunday Times, the Independent - where Bridget Jones began life as a column in February 1995 - and the Telegraph - which published Bridget's diaries from 1997-1998.

She is currently researching a fourth novel in Los Angeles
