Martin Brest - Details

Born in the Bronx, New York 8 Aug 1951, Martin Brest graduated as a film student from New York University. Receiving acclaim for his award winning short subject Hot Dogs for Gauguin (1972), in which the unknown Danny DeVito!starred!

After directing Eddy Murphy in Beverly Hills Cop (1984) Brest hit the 'big time'.

As well as directing, Brest demonsrates hi multi talents, by acting in 'bit-part' roles such as Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982) and Spies Like Us (1985).
