Milla was born to a Russian actress (Gallina Loginova) and a Yugoslavian doctor (Bogie Jovovich) in Kiev on December 17, 1975. When she was five, the family left Europe for the U.S., Sacramento, California to be exact. A few years passed, and led by her mother/manager more offers for modelling and finally acting came her way.
A model since age 11, Milla Jovovich parlayed her cover girl status into a film career at age 15. With 1988's Two Moon Junction as her debut effort, Jovovich landed her first starring role three years later as Brooke Shields' successor in Return to the Blue Lagoon. Jovovich's career began to improve with small roles in 1992's Chaplin (1992) and 1993's Dazed And Confused (1993), but her role as the orange-haired siren in 1997's Fifth Element, The (1997) caught the attention of audiences and critics. Balancing a career in singing and modelling in addition to acting, Jovovich has recently appeared in Spike Lee's 1998 film, He Got Game (1998). Milla now stars as Alice in Paul Andersons Resident Evil (2002) Along side Michelle Rodriguez.
