Showcasing an all-star cast with full-throttle action and high-octane thrills, FAST X stars Vin Diesel (The Fast and the Furious), Michelle Rodriguez (The Fast and the Furious), Tyrese Gibson (2 Fast 2 Furious), Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges (2 Fast 2 Furious), John Cena (F9: The Fast Saga), Nathalie Emmanuel (Furious 7), Jordana Brewster (The Fast and the Furious), Sung Kang (The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift), Scott Eastwood, Daniela Melchior, Alan Ritchson, with Helen Mirren (The Fate of the Furious), with Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), with Rita Moreno, and Jason Statham (Furious 7), and Jason Momoa (Aquaman) and Charlize Theron (The Fate of the Furious) and more surprise cameos from the franchise’s past.

Ever since their saga started on the streets of L.A.’s underground racing scene, Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his family have overcome impossible odds to outsmart, out-nerve and outdrive every foe. Yet when the team took down a nefarious kingpin back in Brazil, they had no idea his son Dante (Jason Momoa) was watching from the shadows. More lethal than any other enemy they’ve faced, Dante now rises as a terrifying new nemesis who’s fuelled by revenge and determined to shatter their family and destroy everything and everyone that Dom loves.

From London and Brazil to Antarctica and Rome new alliances are forged and old enemies resurface. But everything changes after Dom discovers his eight-year-old son is Dante’s ultimate target.

The Fast and Furious franchise has been blazing a trail at the box office since 2001 racking up an astonishing $7 Billion in that time. It's incredible that such ridiculous (but fun and fantastic) films could do so well both critically and financially but audiences just love them. The Fast movies have been such an enjoyable ride and Fast X keeps the pedal firmly pressed to the metal to keep the series speeding along nicely. And with a second part of FAST X in the works the series isn’t looking to retire the cars just yet!

The cast are likable and as it keeps growing it just gets better. Newer additions such as Charlize Theron as cyberterrorist Cipher and Helen Mirren as Queenie Shaw, mother of Jason Statham's character Deckard Shaw all make welcome returns and add some extra acting prowess. Likewise Brie Larson as Mr Nobody’s daughter adds heft to the cast even if she is above this quality of movie. Jason Momoa isn't an especially good choice for the main villain but he does his best to match up the rest of the cast as the newcomer to the garage.

Director Louis Leterrier hasn't always had the best results with big blockbuster movies such as The Incredible Hulk and Clash of the Titans (both of which I personally enjoyed but they failed at the box office) but with the FAST franchise he simply can’t fail and this film is both a critical and financial success.

Without spoiling the storyline, it’s full of action, twists and turns and surprises that will keep franchise fans happy as well as thrilling new fans. As the tenth film in the series this will still bring in new fans – as a franchise it’s already multi-generational – but there of course audiences have been watching this series for over two decades. Fast X is all about the actors and the muscle cars, the crazy street racing, heists and uber-action. There are physics-defying stunts and explosions, but it’s the myriad sub-plots that will grab the attention. Will this be the first of a two part finale? Or possibly part of a franchise-closing trilogy of movies? No one knows just yet, but even if it doesn’t quite wrap things up just yet, Fast X is a sure fire hit that will delight audiences and will ensure that fans come back for at least one further instalment.
