Alexander the Great : Baz Luhrmann seeks child star


Baz Luhrmann, world-renowned director of Strictly Ballroom, Romeo + Juliet and Moulin Rouge!, is currently touring the world in search of an actor to play young Alexander the Great in his upcoming film.

The film will be a distinct break from Luhrmann's musical trilogy to a more serious delving into epic story telling.

Though production on the film is yet to commence, casting for the role of the adult Alexander has already been confirmed as Leonardo DiCaprio.Fellow Academy award winner Nicole Kidman will play Alexander's mother.

By focusing much of the film on young Alexander's life, Luhrmann hopes to shed some light on the psychology of one of the greatest leaders to rule the world.

Luhrmann is looking for a gifted young boy to play this role with experience in acting and horse-riding.
