Fresh from marching and dancing their way to Oscar glory in March of the Penguins and Happy Feet, respectively, the Antarctic's most "bankable" birds "hang ten" in Surf's Up, a reasonably clever animated mockumentary directed by two Disney veterans, Ash Brannon (Toy Story 2) and Chris Buck (Tarzan). Amusing but never particularly engaging, this overly long and often listlessly paced send-up of reality television and extreme sports competitions generates just enough scattered laughs to make it a passably entertaining family film.
