A group of exotic dancers, fight, cry, dance, bitch and have sex while working a strip club in suburban California known as the Blue Iguana. Jo (Jennifer Tilly) is the sexy queen of the show until she falls pregnant and Angel (Daryl Hannah) looks likely to take over her crown. Jasmine (Sandra Oh) and Jesse (Charlotte Ayanna) are young and inexperienced and both desperate for approval. The girls do what they have to do to gain the approval of the audience, but each of them has dark secrets and personal problems. Dancing at the Blue Iguana is a interesting enough study of exotic dancing and even if the story is now a little dated. It’s still better than watching Showgirls and Tilly and Hannah both put in strong performances.
