London Australian Film Festival

The London Australian Film Society is curated by a group of passionate and driven Australian & British citizens, based in London, working in various fields including Film, Television, Education, Finance and Publishing.

Together, we have been running film events since 2009 and the London Australian Film Festival (formerly OZ Film Festival) since 2017, and are endorsed by the Australian High Commission. The society and festival are entirely self-funded we all volunteer our time on this project.

The inaugural festival was held over the last weekend in June 2017 at The Regent Street Cinema in central London showed seven Australian new/cult classic feature films and documentaries, ostensibly without UK distribution.

The festival is dedicated to supporting rising Australian talent and each year flies a debut feature film director for a Q&A for the closing night gala. We also screen Australian student films before each feature, except opening night. Australian film schools that have had short films screened at our festival include the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS), Swinburne University, Sydney Film School & the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA).

As well as the festival, the London Australian Film Society also screens new and cult feature films throughout the year at Regent Street Cinema and venues across London.
