It is Baltimore in 1954 and everything is changing. For the first time, Van and Ben Kurtzman (Adrien Brody, Ben Foster) are able to experience desegregated schools, rock'n'roll, the freedom of cars, and perhaps most significantly, their changing values as Jewish citizens.
