A young man (Brody) who struggles to express his feelings learns to communicate with the world as a ventriloquist, through his dummy. (Jovovich plays his best friend, an aspiring Yiddish folk singer; Harris plays the ex-boyfriend of his sister; Farmiga plays the girl he hopes to woo).
