I Trust You to Kill Me (2006) - Synopsis

First Independent Pictures president Gary Rubin announced today a distribution deal for the rock documentary “I Trust You To Kill Me” with Kiefer Sutherland and partner Jude Cole’s Ironworks label. The film, which marks Sutherland’s first appearance in a feature documentary, will be released in selected theaters in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco in September.

“I Trust You To Kill Me” follows Kiefer Sutherland, taking his indie record label act, Rocco DeLuca & the Burden on their first international tour through London, Dublin, Reykjavic and Berlin. Directed by Manu Boyer, the rockumentary chronicles a highly personal journey of a rock band & their less than qualified road manager (Sutherland), and shows the hopes, successes and disappointments of a band trying to find their audience. Shot guerilla style in High Definition color and black and white, the multi-camera crew intermingles real-life characters and captures the excitement and commotion of staged and un-staged performances, improvised interactions between the band, fans and locals.

“The tour in Europe, and the film that has resulted, “I Trust You To Kill Me,” was an amazingly personal experience,” says Sutherland. “With the help of Gary Rubin and his company, First Independent Pictures, this film will have a limited theatrical run, something that none of us could have ever dreamed of. We now hope that audiences will enjoy the film as much as we enjoyed being a part of it.”

“This was a slam dunk for FIP” says Rubin. “Aside from being a long time fan of Kiefer’s, I share his passion for music and am totally blown away with what he and Jude have been able to accomplish with Rocco and Ironworks in a short time. When we were asked to participate, we took about a second to say “yes.”
