Aussie Newspaper Links To DVD Encryption Code


In yet another example of how difficult it is for the Motion Picture Association of America to control postings of the DVD encryption breaker, a leading Australian newspaper, the Sydney Morning Herald, has posted a link to the code on its Web site.

An article about the U.S. controversy over the issue notes in part, "The code can still be found on hundreds of sites worldwide. ... You'll wonder what the fuss is all about unless you understand C programming. ... If we were in the USA, storing and linking to these files would be illegal."
