Nicole Kidman is set to play a LAPD detective in "The Invitation" director Karyn Kusama's Los Angeles crime thriller "Destroyer".

Casting is currently underway on the film which follows Kidman’s character who was placed undercover with a cult-like gang in the California desert while she was a young cop years ago.

When the leader of that gang re-emerges, she must work her way back through the remaining members and into her own history to finally reckon with the demons that destroyed her past.

Kusama will direct from an original screenplay by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi. The pair will produce alongside Fred Berger.
