Third 28 Days Later Movie Is Being Planned by Original Director Danny Boyle.

According to director Danny Boyle, another sequel to the zombie movie 28 Days Later is currently in the works.

Now director and producer Danny Boyle is teasing that a third film is in development. He says that he has an idea for the story and that he is re-teaming with original writer Alex Garland on the project.

"Alex Garland and I have a wonderful idea for the third part. It's properly good."

"The original film led to a bit of a resurgence in the zombie drama and it doesn't reference any of that. It doesn't feel stale at all," he shared. "Alex is concentrating on directing his own work at the moment, so it's stood in abeyance really, but it's a you-never-know."

28 Days Later's cast included Cillian Murphy, Brendan Gleeson and Christopher Eccleston, while 2007's 28 Weeks Later starred Jeremy Renner and Rose Byrne. The 28 Days Later followup was directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo and co-written by Rowan Joffe, E.L. Lavigne, and Jesus Olmo. Though Boyle did not direct the sequel, he remained onboard as executive producer.
