Olivia Wilde to Direct and Star in 1950s Psychological Thriller.

Olivia Wilde is following up Booksmart with Don't Worry, Darling, a new thriller she's directing and starring in with her "Booksmart" partner Katie Silberman.

Having proved she has the directorial chops with this year's Booksmart, Olivia Wilde is igniting a bidding war between studios and streaming services for her potential next film. She's attached to star in and direct Don't Worry, Darling.

The project is being described as "a psychological thriller for the Times Up era" will center on an unhappy 1950s housewife. Silberman is re-writing a script by the sibling writing team of Shane and Carey Van Dyke, centered on a 1950s housewife.

Wilde directed "Booksmart" in her helming debut from a script by Silberman and three other writers. The coming-of-age comedy has grossed $22 million domestically since its May 24 release by United Artists and has a 97% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
