Chris Evans in Early Talks to Join 'Little Shop of Horrors'.

Chris Evans is in talks to play dentist Orin Scrivello in director Greg Berlanti's musical feature Little Shop of Horrors from Warner Bros. The project is based on the 1960 film that was adapted into a Broadway musical in the 1980s before the musical was then adapted into the cult 1986 film.

If signed, Evans would play the sadistic, diabolical dentist Dr. Orin Scrivello, a role played by Steve Martin in Frank Oz's 1986 film adaptation of the off-Broadway musical comedy. The sci-fi faustian tale follows a meek florist named Seymour whose life is changed forever when he discovers a mysterious and rare flytrap.

Little Shop of Horrors follows a nerdy florist who finds his chance for success and romance with the help of a giant man-eating plant who demands to be fed. Previous iterations include the 1960 Roger Corman movie, which morphed into the 1982 Off-Broadway musical by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, and then was adapted into the 1986 movie directed by Frank Oz and starring Rick Moranis.
