Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grand Join Adam McKay's 'Don't Look Up'.

Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothée Chalamet and Ariana Grand will join Jennifer Lawrence in the star-studded cast of "Don't Look Up", a new Netflix comedy from Adam McKay.

McKay, the filmmaker behind "Step Brothers", "Anchorman", "Talladega Nights" and "The Big Short", wrote and directed "Don't Look Up", which follows two low-level astronomers who embark on a media tour to warn mankind of an impending asteroid that could destroy the planet. Lawrence and DiCaprio are expected to play the two astronomers, but Netflix would not confirm.

Set to be written, produced, and directed by Adam McKay as his follow-up to the Academy Award-winning Vice, the story will follow a pair of "low-level" astronomers who discover that the Earth will soon be destroyed by a giant asteroid that is on a collision course with the planet. Together they set out on a media tour to try and warn the world, and knowing McKay's sensibilities it will probably not be the easiest gig.

Scott Stuber, head of Netflix Films, said in a statement: "Adam has always had great timing when it comes to making smart, relevant and irreverent films that depict our culture. Even if he somehow ends up predicting planet Earth's imminent demise, we're excited to add this to our slate before it all comes to an end."
