Recently resigned NBC Nightly News producer David Doss is reportedly being courted to return to his old stomping grounds at ABC to oversee Primetime Thursday when it debuts this fall.

Diane Sawyer, who will host the magazine show with Charles Gibson, is boosting Doss for the assignment,New York Daily News columnist Phyllis Furman reported today (Wednesday). citing a source at ABC. According to Furman, no deal can be struck until Doss's NBC contract expires in November.
