Quixote Filming Is Halted When Star Is Injured

Terry Gilliam's The Man Who Killed Don Quixote has been put on indefinite hold after veteran French actor Jean Rochefort, who plays Quixote, was forced out of the production after suffering a herniated disk. The movie began shooting in Spain on Oct. 1.

The British entertainment news site Ananova said Wednesday that the producers are now looking to restart in January, whether or not Rochefort is fit by then. The $32-million film, produced by France's Studio Canal Plus, costars Johnny Depp as a modern-day man who is sent back to the 17th century where Quixote mistakes him for his sidekick, Sancho Panza.
