LATEST: Los Angeles police are coming under fire over the
accidental shooting of actor ANTHONY DWAIN LEE.

The 39-year-old LIAR LIAR star was shot to death by police after he pointed a fake gun at officers while at a Halloween party on Saturday (28OCT00).

Friends of Lee are reacting angrily to the death claiming police
overreacted and failed to issue any warnings before the shooting - with some questioning whether he was shot because of his skin colour.

The shooting is the latest in a series of controversies to hit
the Los Angeles Police Department this year (00).

More than 30 officers have lost their jobs and more than 100
convictions have been overturned because of a corruption and
brutality scandal involving the police's anti-gang squad. Party-goer STEVE SIMS, 27, says, "I think this was a horrible
tragedy. "It was surreal. I look in there and I see a man laying on the floor, one leg up on the bed, his back on the ground, his arms kind of spread out, a gun just out of reach of his hand on the floor, and I didn't know whether this was a hoax or a grand
finale to the party and then I realise that it's real."
