Super Bowl Sales Still Super

Three months before Super Bowl XXXV, CBS has already sold 80 percent of its spot inventory for the game, Broadcasting & Cable magazine reported Wednesday. Spots for the game are going for $2.3 million to $2.4 million, according to Joe Abruzzese, president of CBS Network Sales. Abruzzese said that the network has also sold about 80 percent of spots for Survivor II. A striking difference between next year's game and this year's will be the reduced presence of Internet advertisers. Abruzzese told the trade publication that only six dot-com companies have purchased ads so far on the Super Bowl telecast compared with nineteen last January.
