Kenneth Branagh's 'A Haunting in Venice' Casts Tina Fey, Michelle Yeoh, and Jamie Dornan.

A new Kenneth Branagh Hercule Poirot movie is confirmed to move forward at 20th Century Studios with another large cast of A-list talent.

This will be Kenneth Branagh's third Hercule Poirot film after 'Murder on the Orient Express' and 'Death on the Nile'.

Based on Agatha Christie’s book 'Halloween Party', the supernatural thriller film A Haunting in Venice will feature an A-list cast with Branagh in the lead role as detective Poirot supported by Tina Fey, Michelle Yeoh, Jamie Dornan, Kyle Allen, Camille Cottin, Jude Hill, Ali Khan, Emma Laird, Kelly Reilly, and Riccardo Scamarico.

The film is centered around mysterious events on All Hallows’ Eve in post-World War II Venice. Hercule Poirot, after much persuasion, accepts to attend a séance that would eventually have him resurrect his detective skills in order to get to the root of a murder that occurs in the course of the evening's events. Poirot who now leads a quiet life after a self-imposed retirement swings into action after it becomes obvious the venue of this séance is a haunted palazzo that holds secrets that no one seems to know about.

Michael Green is adapting the script which is said to have more of an "unsettling supernatural" tone than the previous films. Shooting is slated to begin October 31st.

Branagh says in a statement: "This is a fantastic development of the character Hercule Poirot, as well as the Agatha Christie franchise. Based on a complex, little known tale of mystery set at Halloween in a pictorially ravishing city, it is an amazing opportunity for us, as filmmakers, and we are relishing the chance to deliver something truly spine-chilling for our loyal movie audiences."
