Oscars 2023: Everything Everywhere All At Once leads nominations.


Riz Ahmed and Allison Williams announced this year's Academy Award nominees.

While many of the nominations this morning were expected, there were a handful of surprise nominations which always makes the Oscar nominations morning that much more exciting.

In the lead-up to the Oscars, The Banshees of Inisherin, Everything, Everywhere, All at Once, and All Quiet on the Western Front quickly became top contenders, with each film racking up an impressive number of nominations and wins across the entertainment industry.

Brendan Fraser, Jamie Lee Curtis, Austin Butler and Michelle Yeoh are among the many first-time nominees for the 95th annual Academy Awards.

All six nominees for best leading actor received their first nod from the Academy. Austin Butle scored the nomination for his portrayal of the Elvis in Baz Luhrmann's Elvis. Brendan Fraser also secured the nom for his transformative performance in The Whale, and Colin Farrell also received his first nomination for his role in The Banshees of Inisherin. Paul Mescal is also a first-timer for Aftersun, as well as Bill Nighy for Living.
