Pedro Pascal is set to become the latest to join Ridley Scott's upcoming Gladiator sequel for Paramount Pictures, joining Paul Mescal and Denzel Washington.
Gladiator 2 will once again be directed by Ridley Scott from a screenplay written by David Scarpa. The sequel is set to take place years after the events of the first film. Paul Mescal is set play Lucius, the now grown-up son of Nielsen’s Lucilla in the first film. It will also star Barry Keoghan and Oscar winner Denzel Washington.
Pascal's role in Gladiator 2 adds to his already busy schedule in both television and film. In addition to his ongoing lead roles in Disney+'s The Mandalorian and HBO's The Last of Us, the actor is set to appear in Pedro Almodóvar's Western short film Strange Way of Life opposite Ethan Hawke, Ethan Coen's Drive-Away Dolls with Matt Damon and Tropico with Willem Dafoe. Pascal rose to prominence as Oberyn Martell in Season 4 of Game of Thrones before appearing in other popular titles such as Narcos, Kingsman: The Golden Circle and Wonder Women 1984.
At the time of the release, "Gladiator" grossed $460 million at the box office and earned eleven Oscar nominations – winning five awards, including Best Picture and Best Actor.
