Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness star Chiwetel Ejiofor has joined the cast of Sony and Marvel's Venom 3.
Juno Temple was added to the Venom threequel last month, and while there are still no plot details available on who either star will be playing, it is expected that both characters will have a significant role in the film. The casting of Ejiofor is an interesting choice considering his major character appearance in the MCU and the way the two different universes have been seemingly crossing over in the wake of the multiverse opening up. Could he be reprising his role as Baron Mordo in some way, or will he be playing another character entirely?
Longtime writer of the franchise Kelly Marcel will take over the directing reins for this outing and wrote the script from a story she created with Hardy. Both will produce alongside Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal and Hutch Parker.
Ruben Fleischer directed Venom, with Andy Serkis directing Venom: Let There Be Carnage. The 2021 sequel saw Tom Hardy’s Venom do battle with Woody Harrelson’s Carnage. The sequel also made it clear that these Venom movies are taking place within the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe, so we expect to see some more connections in the upcoming third movie.
Ejiofor will next be seen in "The Pod Generation", "Rob Peace", and "The Old Guard" sequel.
