Affleck Cozies Up With Boeing

Only moments before Ben Affleck appeared at a news conference Tuesday to promote what was touted as the first satellite distribution of a feature film using a Boeing satellite, he called Harry Stonecipher, the president of the company to ask about buying a $37.5-million Boeing business Jet, the Seattle Times reported Wednesday.

Affleck reortedly joked that he would take a seat on Boeing's board in exchange for the jet. The conversation took place as Boeing, via its Cinema Connexion operation, was beaming Affleck's Bounce to 16 movie theaters equipped with digital projectors that will begin screening it Friday night.

The transmission took about 12 hours, the Times said. NOTE: The indie film The Last Broadcast was distributed to five U.S. cities in Oct. 1998 using CyberStar, a subsidiary of Loral Space & Communications.
