Gorgeous actress ANGELINA JOLIE has revealed the truth behind her bizarre marriage to BILLY BOB THORNTON - he saved her from a crushing depression.

The Oscar-winner, previously married to HACKERS co-star JONNY LEE MILLER, shocked the world by suddenly tying the knot with the SLING BLADE star - who was still living with actress LAURA DERN.

But wildchild Angelina, daughter of Hollywood legend JON VOIGHT, insist their love was meant to be - and claims only Billy Bob makes her feel stable. She says, "I used to wake up in the mornings unsure I was in the real world. I didn't have much hope. I didn't feel grounded or safe. I thought I would burn out. Then I met Billy and that all changed. "We have just about everything in common. We understand each other. We accept each other's problems. It's great being with somebody who wants you for you, not an image of you. We don't wear masks when we are together."
