Emily Mortimer and Richard E. Grant have been cast in Netflix's upcoming romantic comedy movie Ladies First.
Grant and Mortimer will be joining previously announced cast members Sacha Baron Cohen and Rosamund Pike in the rom-com movie.
The movie, which is based on Eléonore Pourriat’s Je Ne Suis Pas Un Homme Facile, follows a womanizer who gets a real wakeup call when he finds himself in a parallel world dominated by women - a fiery female counterpart makes things far more complicated.
Thea Sharrock is directing from a screenplay by Katie Silberman, Cinco Paul and Natalie Krinsky.
Translated as I Am Not an Easy Man, the original film Je Ne Suis Pas un Homme Facile stars Vincent Elbaz and Marie-Sophie Ferdane. It debuted on Netflix in 2018.
Sharrock’s previous features as director include Me Before You, The One and Only Ivan, Wicked Little Letters and The Beautiful Game.
Grant is the star of such movies as Saltburn, Gosford Park, The Player, Withnail & I, and his Oscar nominated supporting actor turn in Can You Ever Forgive Me?
Mortimer can currently be seen starring in Dougal Wilson’s Paddington in Peru, the third installment of the hit franchise opposite Olivia Colman, Hugh Bonneville and Antoni Banderas. The threequel was released by Studio Canal in the UK on Nov. 8, and quickly broke box office records as the highest opening for a British film since 2021.
