Samuel L. Jackson is in negotiations to join the cast of J.J. Abrams‘ untitled mystery movie for Warner Bros and his Bad Robot.

If the deal is made, he'll join a cast that includes Glen Powell, Jenna Ortega and "Sex Education" star Emma Mackey. Abrams is writing and directing the untitled feature, of which details have been kept under wraps. Bad Robot, the company founded by Abrams, will serve as a producer.

While plot details are being kept under wraps, its been suggested the story - which is being written by Abrams - will not include any time travel elements after it was previously rumoured the movie would be focused around the sci-fi feature.

The feature is expected to shoot in the spring in the UK.

Jackson has had a busy 2024 with appearances in several movies and series, among them Matthew Vaughn’s all-star caper Argylle and Piano Lesson, Netflix’s adaptation of the play by August Wilson directed by Malcolm Washington. He is also part of the ensemble of Peacock’s crime mini-series Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist that also stars Kevin Hart, Taraji P. Henson, Don Cheadle, and Terrence Howard. The latter debuted in October.
